Saudi FM, German minister meet to discuss expanding partnership

BERLIN — Saudi Minister of Foreign Affairs Prince Faisal bin Farhan met with German Minister of Economic Affairs and Energy Katherina Reiche in Berlin on Monday. During the meeting, the two ministers reviewed bilateral relations between the two countries, particularly in the economic fields. They explored opportunities to expand partnerships and increase trade and investment by leveraging the potential of both countries, in line with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030. These efforts aim to strengthen economic ties, open new horizons for partnership, and contribute to achieving common interests. Both sides emphasized the importance of developing relations in the energy sector and enhancing related partnerships, including energy security and sustainability, while strengthening the resilience of supply chains. They also stressed the importance of efforts to ensure the security and safety of waterways and freedom of navigation for commercial vessels. Such efforts, they noted, would contribute to mitigating the repercussions of current crises and supporting the stability of energy markets and the global economy. The meeting was attended by Director General of the General Administration for European Countries Ambassador Abdulrahman Al-Ahmad, and Acting Chargé d'Affaires of the Embassy in Berlin Asia Baakdah.
