Haze update for Sept 5: 24-hour PSI forecast to remain in moderate to unhealthy range
Singapore's 24-hour Pollutant Standard Index (PSI) is expected to remain within the high moderate to low unhealthy range, the National Environment Agency (NEA) said in its daily update on Saturday (Sept 5).The agency began providing daily updates from Friday, after 24-hour PSI entered into the unhealthy range for the first time since Oct 8, 2023, with the central region recording a reading of 103 that morning.In its second forecast on Saturday evening, NEA noted that most parts of the surrounding region remained dry.Its satellite picture at 2.42pm indicated that moderate to dense smoke plumes over the southern and central parts of Sumatra and various parts of Kalimantan are continuing to drift towards Singapore.
