Alan Pillay, former Mandela staffer and Mbeki aide, dies at 58
Alan Pillay, who served in the Presidency under Nelson Mandela and Thabo Mbeki before becoming Mbeki’s personal assistant, has died at 58. The Thabo Mbeki Foundation described him as an exceptional public servant who worked with humility and integrity.
