AT Ghana’s PPL Net must clear audit arrears before spectrum allocation – Sam George

Communications Minister Sam George has disclosed that PPL Net Ghana Limited must meet key legal and regulatory requirements, including submitting outstanding audited accounts, before it can receive additional spectrum. Speaking at the swearing-in of the company’s new Board of Directors, Sam George said the National Communications Authority (NCA) could not legally allocate spectrum to a company that had failed to submit its audited accounts. “The NCA cannot issue spectrum to a company or an entity that has not submitted audited accounts. These are base requirements that if you gloss over today, tomorrow can become questions on the grounds of the spectrum,” he stated. Sam George said Cabinet had taken a decision on making spectrum available to PPL Net, which owns and operates the AT Ghana brand.
