NTU student, 25, found dead at Hall 13
A 25-year-old man was found dead at Nanyang Technological University's (NTU) Hall 13 on Monday (Aug 31) night. On the university's Reddit thread, users said they saw an area in front of a room cordoned off by the police. Paramedics were also present at the scene.In response to AsiaOne's queries, the police said they received a call for assistance at about 11pm. The police added that the man was found lying motionless and was pronounced dead at the scene by a Singapore Civil Defence Force paramedic.They added that no foul play is suspected based on preliminary investigations. Police investigations are ongoing.In a statement to AsiaOne, an NTU spokesperson said the university is "deeply saddened by the passing of a student on campus"."Our immediate priority is supporting the student's family, affected students and the wider campus community during this difficult time," the spokesperson said.NTU's wellbeing staff and counsellors are in touch with the student's family and affected students to provide support and assistance.
