Ben-Gvir slams left-wing leaders over haredi draft compromise
Otzma Yehudit chairman Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir criticized left-wing leaders over their contacts with the haredi parties, accusing them of deceiving their voters and undermining military reservists. According to Ben-Gvir, after running a campaign focused on drafting haredim into the military, left-wing leaders are now rushing to cooperate with the haredi parties. "Those who insult the intelligence of their voters are the leaders of the liberal, enlightened, and educated public," he said. Ben-Gvir claimed that the left is acting contrary to the values it presents to the public, adding: "The alliance of those who serve is an agreement to exempt people from military service. There are no left-wing values. Everything is a lie for campaign purposes," he said. Concluding his remarks, Ben-Gvir referred to the weekly Torah portion of Chayei Sarah, emphasized the Jewish people's connection to the Cave of the Patriarchs and the Land of Israel, and called on the public to visit Hebron.
