STB suspends Blue Miracle Inspiration's travel agent licence over regulatory breaches
The Singapore Tourism Board (STB) has suspended the licence of travel agency Blue Miracle Inspiration with effect from Nov 6.It said in an advisory issued on Friday (Nov 6) that Blue Miracle Inspiration is now suspended from conducting travel agent activities. This means that the company is not allowed to accept new travel bookings, although it will be allowed to fulfil its existing obligations to customers.According to STB, the suspension was issued over the company's failure to submit its audited statement of accounts and annual business profile returns — required under the Travel Agents Regulations 2017.Under the regulations, a licensee is required to submit its audited statement of accounts and annual business profile returns within six months after the close of the financial year.STB said that the suspension is in place for six months or until Blue Miracle Inspiration submits the required documents, whichever is earlier. The board added that it takes a serious view against errant travel agents and will not hesitate to take necessary actions to protect the reputation of Singapore’s travel industry.
