Shivute elected chairperson of African tax body
Namibia Revenue Agency commissioner Sam Shivute has been elected chairperson of the African Tax Administration Forum (ATAF) Governing Council for the next two years. Shivute was elected at the ninth ATAF general assembly held in Cairo in Egypt on Thursday. The agency in a statement issued on Thursday says Shivute’s election places Namibia at the helm of the continental tax administration body, which brings together African tax authorities to strengthen tax systems, improve revenue collection and promote cooperation among member countries. “We wish you every success in this important role,” it says.
