Sam George calls for dismissal of military officer over alleged misconduct in Ningo-Prampram
The Minister of Communication, Digital Technology and Innovations, Samuel Nartey George, has called on the Chief of Defence Staff to take disciplinary action against a military officer he accuses of leading an operation involving the seizure of trucks in the Ningo-Prampram Constituency. The minister identified the officer as Lieutenant Albert Goh and accused him and other soldiers of entering the constituency heavily armed, seizing trucks belonging to residents without lawful authority and mistreating local people. Describing the alleged conduct as akin to armed robbery, Mr George said the military personnel had no justification for taking citizens' property. “What you did yesterday was akin to armed robbery,” he said, directly addressing the lieutenant. He also warned soldiers against returning to the constituency to brutalise residents, saying they would be held accountable under the law.
