2027 Budget to highlight inflation drop, economic progress – Agalga
Majority Leader in Parliament, James Agalga, says the 2027 Budget will provide an opportunity for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) government to showcase what it considers its economic achievements during its first two years in office. He said the debate on the government's financial statement would highlight improvements in key economic indicators, including inflation and food prices. Speaking at a press briefing ahead of Parliament's resumption on Tuesday, November 3, 2026, Mr Agalga cited the reduction in inflation from 53 per cent to 5.3 per cent as one of the major developments the government would present to Parliament. “You will get to understand how we managed to bring inflation down from 53%, which was unprecedented at the time, to a single digit. Now, we are talking about 5.3%. You will get to understand how we achieved those monumental results,” he said.
