No farming experience, but 28-year-old Singaporean uses savings to start goat farm in Indonesia
With no farming experience to his name, a 28-year-old Singaporean has invested his personal savings in an unlikely venture: setting up a goat farm in West Kalimantan, Indonesia.Muhammad Hakim Roslee, a digital engagement officer at Al-Istighfar Mosque in Pasir Ris, had long wanted to start a business but struggled to find the right opportunity, reported Berita Harian (BH) on Sunday (Nov 1).The idea emerged in early June after a friend told him that his driver in Indonesia had an empty plot of land suitable for a goat farm, prompting Hakim to take up the opportunity with his friend and an Indonesian business partner. "I saw this as an opportunity to learn something new, explore a different field of business and build something with the potential to grow in the future," he told BH.Hakim added that he hopes to eventually build a successful business that will give him the financial freedom to devote more time to dakwah, or Islamic outreach work.
