Hardap farmworker serial rapist Jonas Murao jailed for 55 years
Hardap region farmworker Jonas Murao is a serial rapist who operated under the cover of darkness to carry out break-ins and sexually assault his victims, including a four-month-old baby, a judge recounted in the Windhoek High Court on Friday. Judge Claudia Claasen made the remark about Murao (47) before she sentenced him to an effective prison term of 55 years. Claasen described Murao as a “serial rapist” who carried out crimes that showed “a sustained pattern of predatory sexual conduct” directed at vulnerable victims. The crimes Murao was convicted of demonstrate a profound disregard for the dignity and bodily integrity
