Ghana woos Polish investors with access to African markets
Ghana has urged Polish and other European businesses to invest in the country, citing its democratic stability, access to African markets and improving economic conditions as key advantages. The Deputy Minister for Trade, Agribusiness and Industry, Sampson Ahi, made the call during a panel discussion on “What Investors Need to Know from Both Governments” at the TOP CHARITY ChangeMAKERS Africa Business Mixer in Accra. He said Ghana’s stable democratic environment, respect for the rule of law and growing middle class made it an attractive destination for investors seeking to expand their operations. Mr Ahi also highlighted Ghana’s role as host of the Secretariat of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA), describing it as a strategic advantage for businesses seeking access to the wider African market. The AfCFTA provides a framework for trade across 54 African countries, representing a potential market of approximately 1.4 billion people. He encouraged Polish and other European businesses to explore investment opportunities in Ghana, particularly as the government pursues efforts to strengthen the country’s industrial base, create jobs and deepen international trade relations. The Deputy Minister said greater investment would support Ghana’s economic ambitions while creating opportunities for stronger commercial partnerships between Ghanaian and European businesses.
