Mahama promotes 15 Ghana Prisons Service officers to senior ranks
President John Dramani Mahama has approved the promotion of 15 officers of the Ghana Prisons Service, including seven Deputy Directors of Prisons elevated to Directors of Prisons and eight Assistant Directors of Prisons promoted to Deputy Directors of Prisons. The appointments were announced in a press release dated October 29, 2026, issued by the Service’s Public Affairs Department. According to the statement, the promotions were made in accordance with Article 207 of the 1992 Constitution, on the advice of the Prisons Service Council, and took effect from July 1, 2026.
