Singapore, Thai police bust syndicate recruiting foreign women to Singapore as vice workers
Four people have been arrested by Singapore and Thai police for their alleged involvement in operating a transnational vice syndicate.Police said in a news release on Thursday (Oct 29) that the quartet, who were arrested in Thailand, includes two Singaporean men, aged 42 and 46, and two Thai women, aged 33 and 37."The operation dismantled the syndicate’s operations, leading to the cessation of its vice activities in Singapore and the closure of its Telegram groups," they added.Shedding light on the September operation, police said that anti-vice operations conducted in Singapore between October 2025 and September 2026, had led to the arrests of 19 vice workers managed by the syndicate.Through subsequent investigations, useful leads about the syndicate's modus operandi were uncovered. The Criminal Investigation Department's (CID) Specialised Crime Branch and the Thai police's Central Investigation Bureau then worked together on their investigative findings, and established the identities of three syndicate members. They were then arrested on Sept 15, with the fourth member arrested later on Oct 21.
