Sentosa to begin on-demand autonomous shuttle service trial from 2027
From early 2027, visitors to Sentosa will have another way of getting around the island. The Sentosa Development Corporation (SDC) said on Thursday (Oct 29) that it is partnering Tada Mobility to launch a pilot of an on-demand shared autonomous vehicle service."The service is aimed at providing guests with more convenient and accessible transport options to get around and discover the island in a scenic and enjoyable manner," they added.During the pilot, two WeRide-developed autonomous vehicles will ply a total of 27 pick-up and drop-off points, which will be launched progressively. Each vehicle can sit up to eight guests, with a safety operator on board. The vehicles will extensively utilise the service roads along Siloso Beach and Palawan Beach, as well as existing public roads, to create faster commutes and connections for day-to-day visitors. In turn, this allows visitors to get to the beachfront attractions and restaurants more directly, without needing to change to a beach shuttle.
