Main Merlion statue to undergo cleaning, repair works from Nov 24 to 26
The main Merlion statue at the Merlion Park at One Fullerton Singapore will undergo cleaning and repair works from Nov 24 to 26, the Singapore Tourism Board (STB) said.In its advisory issued on Tuesday (Oct 27), the board said that it will be covered in scaffolding and will not be available for taking photos during maintenance."We seek the public’s understanding as the works and barricades may cause some inconvenience during this period," STB said, adding that members of the public can still take photos with the nearby 2m-tall Merlion cub statue.The main statue last underwent minor maintenance on Sept 8.During a run of unhealthy to very unhealthy air quality between Oct 5 and 17, there were times when the iconic statue was set against a hazy backdrop.
