Iranian officials: American citizens are considered legitimate targets
Two senior Iranian officials, including a senior Revolutionary Guards official, confirmed to The New York Times that Tehran is preparing to harm American diplomats and government officials. According to the two, Israel and the United States have killed dozens of senior Iranian officials and several members of their families. They claim that as a result, American citizens are also considered "legitimate targets."
