The Ministry of Transport launched a nationwide education exercise in September 2026, with Transport Minister Joseph Bukari Nikpe acknowledging that nationwide education was “necessary to help drivers, transport operators, motor unions and other road users understand their responsibilities”. But one month of sensitization is certainly not enough time to absorb dozens of new offences and changed penalties.
