Motorcyclist, 30, dies after accident involving lorry at West Coast Ferry Road
A 30-year-old motorcyclist died after an accident involving a lorry near West Coast Park on Tuesday (Oct 20) morning.Photos of the accident aftermath shared on Facebook on that day shows traffic officers directing traffic at the junction.A pool of blood is also visible beside a motorcycle bearing a Malaysian licence plate.Responding to queries from AsiaOne, the police and Singapore Civil Defence Force said they were alerted to a road traffic accident at the junction of West Coast Ferry Road and Harbour Drive at about 7.30am. A 30-year-old male motorcyclist was taken unconscious to National University Hospital where he subsequently died. A 24-year-old male lorry driver was arrested for driving without reasonable consideration causing death.Police investigations are ongoing.On Aug 28, the traffic police released its mid-year report, which showed an increase in road accidents and casualties in the first half of the year.
