Singapore dad sheds 21kg to keep up with daughters, earns fifth place in bodybuilding competition debut
A father who wanted to keep up with his two daughters shed 21kg and placed fifth in his first bodybuilding competition in Kuala Lumpur.Muhammad Aidil Mohamed Sis, 37, weighed 92kg in 2025 before deciding to change his lifestyle to become fitter for his children, Berita Harian (BH) reported on Friday (Oct 16)."Every time my children wanted to do an activity, I would do it for a while before getting tired," BH quoted him as saying. The Singapore-based Aidil said he wondered why he could not spend more time doing activities with his daughters, Aneesa Muhammad Aidil, seven, and Adeena Muhammad Aidil, 11.Aidil, a podcaster with The Common Folks and a freelance fitness coach, began training to lose weight in November 2025, and his interest in bodybuilding grew after he met competitors who encouraged him to give it a try.His wife, Siti Juleiha Ishak, also supported the idea, telling him: "Just try it once, since you're already interested."With her support and guidance from two coaches, he began preparing for the competition in January this year, balancing gym sessions, cardio and meal planning with work and family commitments.
