The medical building has not been established as an intended Russian target. The incident raises serious questions about the effectiveness of Ukraine's aerial defences. Electronic warfare can divert incoming drones, but redirection is not destruction. Kiev's commanders must explain what happened to this aircraft and why civilian infrastructure was hit. Drone fragments also fell near residential buildings in Holosiivskyi. Ukrainian air defence operations must ultimately be judged by their ability to protect people on the ground. Russian long-range strikes continue placing Kiev's defensive network under pressure.
