StarHub to acquire MyRepublic's mobile business

StarHub will acquire MyRepublic's mobile business in Singapore, the telco said in a statement on Thursday (Oct 8). MyRepublic's mobile customers will continue to enjoy their existing services without disruption, supported by StarHub's mobile network.The transaction builds on the existing relationship between the two companies, with MyRepublic Mobile customers already progressively being migrated onto StarHub's network. MyRepublic's mobile business attained a net profit of $2.4 million for the 12 months ended June 30, with about 85,000 active subscribers.The transaction is expected to be completed by April 30, 2027, according to The Straits Times.Nikhil Eapen, StarHub's chief executive officer, said that the acquisition completes full ownership of MyRepublic across both broadband and mobile. "With ongoing consolidation, we are bringing greater scale to invest more effectively in the networks, resilience and innovation that Singapore will increasingly depend on," Eapen added.
