Foreign-registered motorcycles involved in 1,372 fatal and injury accidents in 2025: Shanmugam
There were a total of 1,372 cases of injury and fatal accidents involving foreign-registered motorcycles on roads here in Singapore last year.This was revealed by Senior Minister K Shanmugam in a written parliamentary reply to Dr Hamid Razak (MP for West Coast-Jurong West GRC) on Wednesday (Oct 7).Hamid, who is an orthopaedic surgeon, had asked for the number of accidents involving foreign-registered motorcycles that resulted in fatalities over the past three years.The first-term MP has actively channelled his first-hand medical experiences to address and raise road safety matters, traffic laws, and accident prevention in Parliament.In his reply, Shanmugam, who is also Coordinating Minister for National Security and Minister for Home Affairs, stated that the total number of accidents rose from 1,083 in 2023, to 1,299 in 2024, and 1,372 in 2025.Last year, 31 of such cases resulted in fatalities, while injuries were reported in the remaining 1,341 cases.
