FAO calls for faster action on C’bean food security
The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) says the 20th staging of Caribbean Week of Agriculture (CWA), which got under way on Monday in Trelawny, is not only a milestone but also a call for the region to move more quickly from commitment to implementation. “The Caribbean is advancing an ambitious transformation agenda. Countries are working to strengthen food security and nutrition, increase production and trade, reduce import dependency, and build resilience to climate and economic shocks,” said FAO Assistant Director-General Rene Orellana Halkyer.
