HDB resale prices fall for third straight quarter; private home prices rise 1.4%
The resale price index for public housing fell for a third consecutive quarter, while private residential property prices again rose and at a faster pace than in the previous quarter.Flash estimates provided by the Housing and Development Board (HDB) on Thursday (Oct 1) show that resale price index for the third quarter of 2026 fell by 0.2 per cent.It dipped by 0.1 per cent in the first quarter — falling for the first time in almost seven years, and 0.3 per cent in the second quarter. Meanwhile, private residential property index rose by 1.4 per cent in the third quarter, up from the 0.5 per cent in the previous quarter, flash estimates from the Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA) showed.During the reported quarter, HDB flat sales rose by 5.2 per cent to 7,528 resale transactions as compared to the 7,157 transactions in the same quarter last year.
