Halloween Trick-or-Treat for Charity to Return to Prague on October 22
A Halloween charity event will bring children and families to several Prague neighbourhoods on October 22, combining trick-or-treating with fundraising for SOS Children’s Villages. The Halloween Trick-or-Treat for Charity will take place from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. across Vinohrady, Vršovice, Žižkov, Prague 15, Holešovice and Barrandov. The concept is simple. Children dressed in Halloween costumes and accompanied by their parents will visit participating host locations, which can include cafés, restaurants, shops, confectioneries, schools, children’s centres and other businesses or organisations. The participating locations will remain a secret until children register for the event and receive a special map showing where they can go trick-or-treating. At each location, children will make a contribution of at least CZK 10 to a sealed collection box supporting SOS Children’s Villages. In return, they will receive a sweet treat before continuing to the next location. Last year’s event attracted more than 1,100 registered participants and raised CZK 296,157 despite rainy weather. The entire amount was donated to SOS Children’s Villages, which has supported children, families, young people and foster carers in the Czech Republic for more than 50 years.
