Person who emailed vulgar remarks to LTA officer fined $8,000: 'We do not tolerate abuse'
A person who made abusive and vulgar remarks towards a Land Transport Authority (LTA) officer has been fined $8,000.LTA said in a social media post on Monday (Sept 28) that the person was an appellant, someone who had filed an appeal to challenge a court decision.The person made abusive and vulgar remarks while corresponding with the LTA officer via email.LTA then took action against the person by lodging a police report.The person was then convicted under the Protection from Harassment Act 2014 and fined $8,000."We do not tolerate abuse towards our officers," LTA wrote."Those who threaten and abuse our officers face the full force of the law."
