Singapore muay thai fighter, 24, dies after tournament
A 24-year-old muay thai fighter who was taken unconscious to the hospital after a charity bout at the National Stadium on Sept 12 has died, the police confirmed on Monday (Sept 28).Earlier on Sept 18, the police had confirmed in a statement to AsiaOne that a report was lodged following the incident.The report was lodged at about 8am on Sept 13, said the police. The man is reportedly a Singaporean.In their follow-up statement on Monday (Sept 28), the police said that the man was taken unconscious to hospital after taking part in the in the AMC 13 - Fight for Hope tournament on 12 September 2026.The man subsequently passed away, said the police, adding that based on preliminary investigations, they do not suspect foul play. Police investigations are ongoing.AsiaOne had earlier reported that the man was in a critical condition.
