Saudi Joint Forces commander, Tareq Saleh discuss Yemen military readiness
RIYADH — Saudi Joint Forces Commander Lt. Gen. Fahd Al-Salman and Yemen’s Presidential Leadership Council member Lt. Gen. Tareq Saleh discussed developments in Yemen and ways to strengthen military coordination during a meeting in Riyadh on Saturday.The two sides reviewed efforts to enhance coordination and cooperation in support of the readiness of Yemen’s armed forces across all fronts as they seek to restore state institutions.Al-Salman thanked Saleh for his leadership role on Yemen’s Presidential Leadership Council and as commander of the National Resistance Forces, acknowledging the sacrifices made by its personnel in efforts to restore the state and end the Houthi takeover.Saleh, for his part, praised the Saudi Joint Forces Command for its support to the Yemeni Armed Forces and National Resistance Forces in strengthening their capabilities.He also commended efforts to unify ranks and rehabilitate Yemeni forces to enable them to carry out their national duties.Saleh expressed confidence in members of the Yemeni Armed Forces and their determination to fulfill their responsibilities, stressing the importance of overcoming the current phase and continuing to strengthen readiness, coordination and integration in preparation for future requirements.Both sides emphasized the importance of unity, coordinated efforts and integrated roles, as well as continued cooperation to strengthen morale, rehabilitate military units and raise their combat readiness.They said these efforts were aimed at supporting the restoration of the Yemeni state and its institutions and contributing to the Yemeni people’s aspirations for renewed security, stability and a better future.
