IN PICS: Devotees celebrate the birth of Lord Ganesha
The Durban Ganesh Utsav (also known as Ganesh Chaturthi), which celebrates the birth of Lord Ganesha, was held at Greyville Racecourse. On the final day, Sunday, devotees immersed the idol of Lord Ganesha in water, symbolising the eternal cycle of creation and dissolution and Ganesha's return to his heavenly abode.
