A driver who parked for just five minutes in River Valley was reportedly hit with a parking charge of more than $100,000 due to an apparent gantry glitch.Reddit user Templar817 shared a photo on Friday (Sept 25) showing a staggering bill of $100,870, after the system allegedly recorded the vehicle as having been parked for 7,204 days, 22 hours and 51 minutes, or nearly 20 years."Accidentally parked for 20 years," the user jokingly titled the post, adding that he had in reality stopped for just five minutes and was still within the grace period.He proceeded to call the hotline for Times Parking, the company managing the gantry, and was informed that the system had failed to detect his vehicle entering despite the barrier opening."Luckily it didn't debit my CashCard," Templar817 added.In the comments, netizens responded to the user's experience with humour, with one joking about the duration of his parking: "Extended COE (certificate of entitlement) to secure that one spot next to the lifts.
