A Facebook (FB) post alleging that dog meat is being sold in Singapore has surfaced online, prompting calls for the authorities to investigate.The FB post, which appears to have been shared in a Facebook group of Vietnamese people living in Singapore, claimed that several Vietnamese individuals were involved in the sale of dog meat.The post was shared on Wednesday (Sept 23).According to the post, the original author allegedly obtained a contact number linked to one of the purported sellers and urged others to report the matter to the police and relevant authorities.The post also claimed that several people were involved in the alleged sales, while some commenters who purportedly bought the meat described it as "delicious".It was not immediately clear from the post when or where the alleged sales took place.AsiaOne has not independently verified the allegations either.AsiaOne has contacted the Singapore Food Agency (SFA) for more information.The Agri-Food and Veterinary Authority (AVA), SFA's predecessor, previously stated that the sale of dog meat is not permitted in Singapore.
