AFTON, Minn. (AP) - A man accused of trying to run Olympic cross country skier Jessie Diggins off the road while she was roller-skiing in Minnesota has pleaded guilty to one charge as part of a plea agreement.
George Garret Frost pleaded guilty to a charge of being a public nuisance on a roadway, a petty misdemeanor. KSTP-TV reports Wednesday the 37-year-old initially faced several charges, including disorderly conduct with intent to cause harm and reckless driving.
Frost made his plea Tuesday. A petty misdemeanor carries a $300 fine.
Diggins, an Olympic gold medalist, was near her hometown of Afton when Frost drove next to her and her coach and tried to prevent them from passing. Diggins wrote on her blog that Frost “buzzed” them with his SUV.
