NEW YORK (AP) - A New York city museum that saw its previous director die of cancer last fall has named a new director.
Bronx resident Deborah Cullen was announced as the new director of the Bronx Museum of the Arts Tuesday. The New York Times reports the 53-year-old woman currently works as the directory of the Miriam and Ira D. Wallach Art Gallery at Columbia University.
Cullen will succeed Holly Block, who served as director at the Bronx Museum for 11 years and died of breast cancer last fall at 58. Cullen says she wants to get to know the staff and board before making any decisions, but will continue to focus on the museum’s local and international connections.
She will assume her post in July.
