FRENCH LICK, Ind. (AP) - Authorities say an overdue hiker has been found safe in the Hoosier National Forest in southern Indiana after more than 12 hours of searching.

The Indiana Department of Natural Resources says the 19 year-old’s father became concerned after his son left Saturday for a hike and failed to return Monday. Indiana Conservation Officers, forest personnel and members of the Orange County sheriff’s department started searching late Monday.

The man was found Tuesday dressed in a tank top and shorts along a trail near French Lick. The DNR says he was exhausted but otherwise in good condition.
