Bubba Wallace leads NASCAR All-Star Race fan voting

Eight days before the NASCAR All-Star Race held at Bristol Motor Speedway on July 15, the organization announced via Twitter that Bubba Wallace is leading the fan voting for the event:

As Steven Taranto of 247Sports wrote, Wallace will be awarded the race's final spot if he wins the fan vote or a segment in the All-Star Open, which precedes the race that same evening. 

Wallace's popularity grew around the country when he successfully campaigned for NASCAR to ban Confederate flags from events in June. However, Wallace was the apparent victim of a hate crime when an alleged noose was found inside of his team garage at Talladega Superspeedway later that month. 

The FBI determined no crime was committed and that the rope in question had been tied to a door in that fashion since at least the fall of 2019. 

On Monday, President Donald Trump tweeted for Wallace to apologize and referred to the noose incident as a "hoax." Wallace responded via social media:
