NASA astronaut Victor Glover trains on POGO–the Partial Gravity Simulator–at the Building 9N’s Space Vehicle Mockup Training Facility at the Johnson Space Center. POGO simulates the weightlessness that astronauts experience in microgravity, and is one method they use to train for spacewalks. Glover is assisted in this exercise by Bill Lee who has been a POGO operator and technician since 1984 and is retiring after more than 35 years of service to astronaut training.

Currently, Glover is assigned to the second crewed flight of SpaceX’s Crew Dragon, a part of the Commercial Crew Program, which is working with the American aerospace industry to develop and operate a new generation of spacecraft and launch systems capable of carrying crews to low-Earth orbit and the International Space Station.
