BENNINGTON, Vt. (AP) - A Vermont town’s visitor center has a new temporary location ahead of the fall tourist season.

The Bennington Banner reports that the Bennington Downtown Alliance will open its temporary location Saturday while its main location is being renovated following a sewage flood.

The space was provided by the Bennington County Regional Commission, which owns the property.

The Alliance’s main location flooded during the summer when the organization was getting ready for the Southern Vermont Arts and Craft Festival.

The organization tried to use the second floor of another building for operations, but it had to vacate after asbestos was discovered.

Alliance Executive Director John Shannahan says he expects to be back in the original offices in November.
