On the 56th day since Judge Dana Sabraw’s migrant family reunification order, Hillary Clinton wants you to remember the hundreds of migrant children who continue to remain under Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR) custody and at ongoing risk of harmful, permanent trauma. Six of these kids, according to the most recent numbers provided by the Trump administration, are age 5 and under:
The parents of 165 of these kids have already been deported, including five kids age 5 and under. Unable to locate some deported parents, lawyers have recommended placing billboards and radio ads in their home countries. According to MSNBC’s Jacob Soboroff, some parents may not be answering U.S. calls out of fear. It’s obvious the administration kidnapped children from their parents with no plan on how or when to ever reunite them.
This continues to be a humanitarian disaster created by the administration, yet not one official has been jailed for violating the court order, has been fired, or has resigned. Nor has this subject been extensively covered at the few briefings the White House has held, nor has Trump himself bothered to comment on it recently, apparently satisfied that his executive order stunt months ago somehow resolved his crisis. But it didn’t. Family separation remains a crisis. Remember the children.
