At this hour, the jury is literally still out on the trial of former Trump campaign chair Paul Manafort. In this trial, Manafort is facing 18 charges of bank fraud and tax evasion. Jurors got the case yesterday, were allowed to go home overnight, and returned to deliberations this morning.
But while jurors contemplate whether taking tens of millions under the table from Russian oligarchs, funneling it through shell companies to unreported accounts at Cyprus-based banks, and failing to report those funds to the IRS while tapping them for you-really-should-not-make-a-coat-out-of-that jackets is a bit of an issue, Donald Trump has already delivered a verdict.
Which should go a long way to making Manafort comfortable with the idea that, no matter what the jury says, this justice system thing is all kind of irrelevant as long as Trump has his pardon gun. And hey, money laundering and bank fraud. Everyone does that kind of stuff. Like locker-room talk.
