Sen. Bill Nelson (D-FL) and Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (FL-23) tried to tour a detention facility where migrant children are being held in Florida, especially in light of the fact that the Trump administration is refusing to provide any photos, videos or tours of facilities where migrant girls and young children are being held, insisting only on distributing tightly controlled images of boys and men. Despite having spoken with the head of the facility to arrange their tour and check up on these children, they were greeted by a representative of the Department of Health & Human Services who told them they could not enter and advised them to come back in two weeks. TWO WEEKS!
What is so bad that they need two weeks to prepare for a site visit? Watch as the pair explain to the representative that they cleared this with someone at the **private company** (follow the money below) running this facility and that they wanted to speak with him directly because they need to check on these children. Denied.
Sen. Nelson and Congresswoman Wasserman Schultz spoke with reporters outside the facility where 1,000 children are being hidden from the public.
