The American actor and Ambassador of the Maison, Michael B. Jordan shined on the Red Carpet of the premiere of his movie “Creed II.” He wore an iconic white gold Piaget Altiplano watch set with diamonds as well as Piaget Possession full paved rings in white gold, as per the official release.According to the release, the diamond studded watch is from Altiplano’s 60th Anniversary Collection. It has 38mm, 18K white gold case, set with 78 brilliant -cut diamonds (approx. 0.71 ct). The watch comes with a blue dial, cross in the center, and white gold appliques index. The Piaget Possession Ring, on the other hand, is made in 18K white gold set with 234 brilliant-cut diamonds.“With this Altiplano 60th Anniversary Collection, composed of two models – a 43mm automatic version and a 38mm manual version – Piaget draws on its roots, both on the design and mechanical sides. Sleek dials, thin profiles (of course), case design that evoke the early Altiplano models, use of modern but historically-related movements…Everything here reminds about the brand’s greatest times, without forgetting the needs for modernity,” states the Piaget website.Dressed in white gold, the Piaget Altiplano 60th Anniversary Automatic is a large masculine watch with a 43mm diameter, however, with a hyper-slim profile. This is all due to the presence of the Caliber 1200P, the worthy successor of the 1960 Caliber 12P, launched in 2010, after three years of research and development. This movement shares the same architecture with micro-rotor and represents the fourth generation of ultra-thin self-winding movements.According to the website, decorated with circular Geneva Stripes, perlages, anglages, and blued screws, this movement with a blackened 22k gold mass can be seen through the sapphire caseback. The dial of the Piaget Altiplano 60th Anniversary Automatic is simple and elegant, with long and thin batons, indexes, and hands, displaying the hours and minutes, and features a refined blue sun-ray pattern, with a cross in the center (something that again reminds of vintage editions). Its production is limited to 360 pieces and the watch is priced somewhere around 23,000 Euros. The other watch in the collection is Piaget Altiplano 60th Anniversary Manual that features another iconic movement of the Maison, the caliber 430P, representing the second generation of ultra-thin manual-winding movements after the 9P. Though not visible, the movement benefits from the same attentions with a fine decoration (Circular Cotes de Geneve, perlages, beveled bridges, blued screws).Click on the slideshow for a sneak peek at the watch https://www.blouinartinfo.com/ Founder: Louise Blouin Read more
