Does Sen. Susan Collins know that her vote for Brett Kavanaugh put her “moderate” reputation up in smoke? Or is she just that desperate as she trails in polls with less than two weeks to go before the elections? Either way, Collins seemed extremely happy to get an endorsement that does not exactly scream “moderate Republican willing to work across the aisle.” Collins nabbed an endorsement from the Christian Civic League of Maine, a group that’s opposed to reproductive rights and LGBTQ rights. It’s not exactly the Human Rights Campaign or Planned Parenthood Action Fund, both groups that abandoned her in 2020 after endorsing her in previous years. But Collins doesn’t seem to mind.
