Canada's Justin Trudeau was asked about Trump's protest response and his pause is already legendary

Canada’s Prime Minister Justin Trudeau was on television fielding questions from reporters Tuesday morning. There’s a lot to talk about these days, with the economic crisis and COVID-19 continuing to be an enormous public health issue. But our northern neighbor is also overseeing a country that is facing protests against police brutality and racial injustice in multiple cities.  In a clip you can see below, Prime Minister Trudeau was asked “You’ve been reluctant to comment on the words and actions of the U.S. president. But we do have Donald Trump calling for military action against protesters. We saw protesters tear gassed yesterday, to make way for a presidential photo op. I would like to ask you what you think about that. And if you don’t want to comment what message do you think you are sending?”

Protests continue around the country; Barr gave order to attack protesting Americans

Today Attorney General William Barr was identified as the Trump official who gave the order to attack peaceful protesters at and around St. John's Church so Trump could use the building as a momentary prop. The justification for the attack was clearly fraudulent: Despite anonymous Justice Department insistence that the White House «perimeter» was previously going to be expanded and Barr gave the order when he saw that it had not been, there is no plausible reason why it was so important to clear the area in the 15 minutes before Trump's toxic, fascist-minded speech that it required the use of rubber bullets, tear gas, flash-bang grenades, mounted police, and public beatings. By giving that order, Barr has betrayed his oath and nation and should be removed from office immediately. For going along with it, every other member of the administration should similarly be removed, down to the Secret Service agents, the office clerks, the legal staff, and the gardeners. A roundup of today's protest news:

Trump left his bunker and people along the route expressed themselves loud and clear

Donald Trump’s ego was bruised after it was widely reported he hid in a bunker on Friday night as a large crowd appeared outside the White House to protest the death of George Floyd in Minnesota, Breonna Taylor in Kentucky, and the systemic racism and brutality that exists in America and always has. Naturally people called out his cowardice, and some people (like me) even called him “bunker bitch” because Donald Trump has a long history of running from fights. He is, at his core, a coward. And he chose a coward’s way out of the White House when he ordered federal police to brutalize peaceful protesters so he could take a walk to a vandalized church for a photo op. He could have taken a presidential route to meet with protest organizers, and listen to the people. But no. That would’ve taken a spine and a moral conscience he doesn’t have and never will.

The Polish photographer created a hypnotic timelapse spanning 24 hours that has a focal point in the atmosphere rather than on the land. Each minute, he snapped a frame that subsequently was looped 60 times to create the final 24-minute version that’s a mesmerizing look at Earth’s cycles. According to PetaPixel, Wojczyński’s camera was attached to an SW Star Adventurer, which is designed to assist in celestial photography. More

In honor of George Floyd, a Black man murdered by a White police officer in May, artists have been painting murals and sharing messages in what now is a global movement supporting the victim. From Minneapolis to Los Angeles to Syria, the public artworks are drawing attention to the horrific killing, in addition to the larger issue of police perpetrating state-sanctioned violence. A collaborative project by artists Xena Goldman, Cadex Herrera, Greta McLain, Niko Alexander, and Pablo Hernandez, the Minneapolis mural centers Floyd within a sunflower. More
