As these numbers increase daily, a new analysis has found that younger workers are being affected at disproportionate rates. According to the Economic Policy Institute (EPI), young workers falling under the category of Gen Z—those ages 16 to 24—are most likely to be unemployed or underemployed due to the pandemic. These younger workers have taken a big hit that researchers predict will last far beyond the end of the pandemic.
