Leading Off ● MN State Senate: Democrats looking to flip the Minnesota Senate this fall got some good news on Friday when freshman GOP state Sen. Paul Anderson announced that he wouldn't seek re-election. Anderson's 44th Senate District, which is located in the Twin Cities suburbs, moved from 51-47 Obama to 55-37 Clinton, and Team Blue was already targeting it before he retired. The GOP unexpectedly flipped the Senate by winning a one-seat majority in 2016, and they expanded it to 35-32 after Democrats lost a special election last year in an Iron Range seat that has rapidly moving to the right. The whole chamber will be up in November, though, and Democrats have a real shot to regain control. Read more
