Just when we thought it was safe to celebrate the arrival of Vladimir Guerrero Jr. to the big leagues, the Toronto Blue Jays pulled the rug out from under us. Bob Nightengale of USA Today Sports reported Monday that the Blue Jays will not be promoting Guerrero to the majors on Tuesday, as many expected. The 20-year-old Guerrero has been crushing the ball the past couple of years in the minors and is hitting .344 with two home runs and seven RBIs in just 34 at-bats this season for the Triple-A Buffalo Bisons. Guerrero has been working back from a left oblique injury sustained late in spring training. A young man who has a lot to offer at the plate, Guerrero could only help a Blue Jays team that is floundering at 11-12 on the season. Read more
