Turkish textile is known for its fine quality far and wide. In recent years, Turkish fashion design is traveling all around the world with more and more cities and retailers embracing the textile. Turkish fashion designer labels have made their way to the prestigious fashion department stores at Saks Fifth Avenue and Bloomingdale’s. Turkish textile and design is here to stay and will be promoted the whole year as a project supplied by Turkey Promotion Group (TPG), as per an official release.The first part of the project was rolled out during New York Fashion Week when four young Turkish Designers: Buket Ozkalfalar, Barut Gokhan Ildeniz, Ece Kavran, and Firat Neziroglu showcased at the fashion gala. Turkish designers exhibited their collections with a mixed brand catwalk in Industria. Some popular Turkish top models walked the runway. All these designers had a successful run at the show as they were coached by Hakan Akkaya, the famous Turkish fashion designer who has the honour of participating three times in a row at NYFW.“Turkey Promotion Group (TPG) was established under the roof of Turkish Exporters’ Association (TIM) to unify all communication activities promoting Turkey, as well as Turkish products and services in the global marketplace.
