It is an idea of a shape, without formalisms, of precision and aplomb, without constraints. It is can also be seen as a twist in the sobriety.”The highlights of the collection include baggy pants, suits, and long coats in a monochromatic palette of grey, camel, and black. As per the website, bringing the street’s attitude to the Atelier, enhancing the tension between opposites in order to find with ease a contemporary emblem is what defines the collection.Valentino’s most prominent clients are Jacqueline Kennedy, Begum Aga Khan, Queen Paola of Belgium, and movie stars Elizabeth Taylor and Audrey Hepburn.Valentino modeled his business in Rome on the grand houses he had seen in Paris. In his early shows, Valentino quickly gained recognition for his red dresses, in a shade that became widely known as “Valentino red.”According to the website, in 1960, Valentino met Giancarlo Giammetti in Rome. Giammetti, an architecture student, quickly became Valentino’s partner, both professionally and romantically. Together, the pair developed Valentino SpA into an internationally recognized brand.
